Salisbury Police Department Retention of Officers Memo

Officer Retention is a major problem in Salisbury and definitely would affect morale. The following memo from Chief Webster discussing officer attrition over a 10 year period and some of the reasons these officers have left are included below. One disturbing point is that between 1995 and 2003 50% of the officers left the Salisbury Police Department to go to better paying jobs with better benefits. On our subcommittees trip to the Dover Police Department we learned they have had only 5 officers leave in 20 years.

Remembering Maryland's Fallen Officers

I thought it would be appropriate to put the link to the Officer Down Memorial Site that honors the memory of all officers killed in the line of duty. We should always remember the sacrifice that our men and women in uniform give us, and remember they put their lives on the line to protect ours.
